What did we do today?
Reading~ the students independently read chapters 10 and 11 in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and answered comprehension questions.
Spelling~ they took their unit 15 dictation test
Writing~ I gave the kids their verb test on action, linking and helping verbs; most finished writing their verb poem titled "Cures for a Boring..." some published by typing it in a Google doc
My math class~ We completed lesson 3-6 on comparing fractions by estimating
SS~ We started our unit on the 13 Colonies by introducing the 3 different regions and identifying each colony; (activated prior knowledge/building background)

Reading~ Completed a "cause and effect based on character's decisions" handout relating to our novel study Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Spelling~ In partners students completed a homophone practice activity
Writing~ We wrote a shared poem titled "Cures for a Boring Detention" where each stanza begins with a verb
SS~ As we finish our unit on colonization, students totaled their colony's ending wealth units, compared sponsorships, and reflected on why some colonies were more successful than others.
