Thank you for agreeing to chaperone our field trip to
Cahokia Mounds on Thursday, November 2nd. Please arrive in the classroom no later than
8:20. Buses will load at 8:30. This will give you time to organize carpools
with other parents if you wish.
As of now the weather is expected to be cloudy with a
chance of showers and a high of 72 degrees.
We will be doing a lot of walking so definitely wear comfortable
shoes. You’ll be asked to supervise a
few students and assist with a scavenger hunt activity. I ask that you do the writing as the
interpretive center will not allow for students to have writing utensils in the
museum. This can be turned in at the end
of the field trip.
We will be having lunch at a picnic area so please pack a
lunch and a drink. I may ask one of you
to drive the students’ lunches to the site and then to the picnic area when it
is time for lunch.
