difference between a common noun and a proper noun:
Common
Noun-
Nouns that are general and are not capitalized unless they are found at the
beginning of a sentence or are part of a title.
Examples: roller
coaster; town, school, country, teacher
Proper
Noun-
Nouns that name specific things and are capitalized.
Examples: The Boss; Waterloo; Gardner; United States; Mrs.

Singular
Noun-
ONE person, place, animal, thing, or idea
Examples- hand; woman; man; cow; knife
Plural
Noun-
MORE than one person, place, animal, thing, or idea
Examples- hands; women; men; cows; knives
